Charles has a business philosophy regarding the condition of Credit in the United States. He believes the Credit system is problematic and not fair to millions of Americans. A strong economy is built on credit. When the credit system is fundamentally flawed then it has a direct impact on how the banking system functions and decisions are made based upon flawed data coming from the Big 3 Credit Bureaus.

Numerous studies have been done to indicate the credit bureaus have inaccurate data on millions of Americans. Also with the health care system in such disarray one of the number one problems we see at Drexler Financial Solutions is medical collections. A recent Harvard University study showed that medical expenses account for approximately 62 percent of personal bankruptcies in the US. Interestingly, the study also showed that 72 percent of those who filed for bankruptcy due to medical expenses had some type of health insurance, thus debunking the myth that only the uninsured face financial catastrophes due to medical-related expenses.

Charles believes that medical collections should not be allowed to go on a credit report due to the following reasons. It violates Federal HIPPA privacy laws. Medical collections wind up on a credit report largely in part to doctor billing errors. If an insurance claim is not submitted to the insurance company within 30 days, the claim can be denied and the next step for the doctor is to send the bill to collections. In an attempt to recover funds since they did not submit the claim in time. Many medical bills are not accurate, and bills are inflated due to a very unregulated system even for individuals with or without health insurance. Millions of Americans can not obtain a car or a mortgage due to credit score issues based solely on medical collections. If a person has medical debt that is not paid, this is not an indication of their ability to repay a debt or make a mortgage or car payment on time. Consumers should be able to live the American Dream regardless of pre-existing medical conditions or illness.
